Hi all,
my name here is No Bert and i am the admin of SWIP. In 2008 the idea occurred to launch an EASY-to-ACCESS forum for people that are interested in social work. This was mainly because of nearly all the forums that deal with social work i came across where either difficult or not to access. Especially for students and practitioners, who are usually not a member of a concrete organization, it was hard or even impossible to register in many of these forums. Also, the information shared there were mostly very few, although the project money that went into building up these kind of pages had been often ridiculously high (compared to the outcome). Finally, many forums that would be a bit like SWIP are put in national context or are bound to any organization (mostly any national organization of social workers). This is, what i did not want for SWIP. Therefore, SWIP is completely independent.
I got to thank many people in this place for there support - THANK YOU!, but in the first place i got to thank Alex Tokar, a genius, who has been, is and hopefully will stay the "tech expert", who deals with the technical stuff. As he is not a social worker (not yet, may be

) you won't read many posts of Cleo in this forum ... besides the fact that he will be dealing with the bug reports. If you are interested in programming, take a look at
www.atokar.net
I hope, SWIP won't end up like many other social work related sites: limited to a small group of people, all knowing each other in real-life (why don't you use a skype-room?

).
Happy posting!
