What advantages will I have through my membership?As a member you will be allowed to
- set a new topic
- reply to existing posts
- add to the calendar (to do so, contact an administrator)
- publish my papers and documents as a download
- add to the reference database
- give everybody information about your person by editing your forum profile (to learn, how you can do this, read the section below
) - probably become a member of the SWIP crew and help to improve SWIP.
How can I adjust my forum profile information?To change your forum profile information, hit "Profile" in the main menu bar on the top of the page. Then you can choose, which information about your person will be available for all SWIP-visitors. The more information you put in, the easier it will be to contact you via E-Mail, VoIP etc., to congratulate you to your birthday and so on

How will I contact other members?You can write other members a personal message (pm) on SWIP. You don't even need an E-Mail nor the E-Mail of the other person. The other person will be notified automatically by SWIP, getting an E-Mail to the account the person registered with. Also, in case the person logs in on SWIP there will be a information "You got 1 new personal message."
ContributionsHow can I contribute to SWIP?You can contribute to SWIP in many ways:
- start topics with social work background
- answer to existing topics - asking questions or giving answers
- add to our reference database
- load up papers, presentations etc. to share it for free
- help to develop SWIP (report bugs, help with your IT-knowledge etc.)
- take over responsibility as a board Moderator with extra-competences

How do I access information I am interested in?There are two ways:
Either you will click through the boards and childboards, searching for interesting topics.
Or you will use the "Search" function, available on the main menu bar on the top of the page.
InformationHow can I see information about other members?If you want to know more about another SWIP-member, take a look at their forum profile information. Therefore either click on their name in one of their posts or search the member in the memberlist ("Members" in main menu bar) and click the name there.
How can I gather general information about SWIP's statistics?At the very bottom of the forum main page, there is a bar "Forum Stats". If you hit the tort graphic, you will receive some general information about SWIP. If you want to have detailed information, contact one of the friendly
administrators of SWIP.
