Skype - an alternative VoIP
« on: November 24, 2008, 12:08:38 PM »

Skype is a free Voice over IP software. You can use Skype for calling people via your PC. What is the point?, you may ask. The points are if the other person has Skype installed as well

  • all calls will be for free
  • you can also simply chat with the other person, using the keyboard
  • you can open a chatroom for discussions with more than two persons
  • you can also use video call for free
  • you can do videoconferences for free

This will make it easier to keep in touch after conferences or meetings. You do not have to open an e-mail account, send an email and wait for the answer every time you need a short and fast information - you just open a chat window and have a synchronous conversation. Makes many things easier and faster.
