In France, we have a double protection system: the social help to children and the judiciary authority which takes care of underage youths confronted with difficulties or in dangerous situations. And the courts which manage the issues relating to the protection of children differ according to the country. What are the differences? How does it work in Europe? How does it work in the world?
If in Europe, the rights of children are at the heart of the social work activities, else where in the world, the problem is differently considered: from the street children to the child soldiers, from wizard children to prostituted and mistreated children, the issue of their guidance, and of their protection will also be at the heart of our debates.
Our seminar aims at taking a crossed look at the practices of the professionals when faced with children and youngsters in danger and at thinking about concrete propositions regarding the guidance of these children.
